Nvidia GTX 1060 dual 6gb won't connect

Hey, I recently bought the GTX 1060, and I followed every step to install this (I'm new at this) I even got a friend over to see if I did it right. But when I turned my pc on, it started normal windows loading screen, but then I it rewtarted like 2 times and after that the resolution was 1080x768 and I think it's not even connected to the Graphic card event though it see the fans spin when I turn on the PC, but the fans stops some seconds after that.

If anyone knows the problem please help >~<

what are your system spefications?

1. Did you connect the power cables from the PSU to the GPU securely ?

2. Is your monitor connected to your GPU or your motherboard ?

Processor Intel core i7 2600k
Ram Corsair vengeance 8gb 1600mhz
Water-cooling Corsair H100i

1. I think so?. I had a friend over who do fix PC's and stuff everyday. So I guess?

2. I connected my DVI cable to my graphic card, but I think it connected to the motherboard
