Hi, I am looking to upgrade my system with this graphic card (1080 ti), so I can play games at 4K in Ultra mode, but I notice that my motherboard has PCI Espress 16x 2.0 slot. Will I have a loss or it will work fine?
My system specs (actually):
Mobo: Gigabyte 990FX-Gaming (rev 1.0)
Procesor: AMD FX 9370 8 cores
RAM: 16GB Kingston Fury
GPU: Gigabyte GTX 1070 G1 Gaming (rev 1.0)
Display: LG 60" 4K 60Hz
Power Supply: Corsair 650W
Thanks

The difference between 2.0 and 3.0 is negligible
But if you want to get the full potential from the 1080ti, I wouldn't recommend you using the FX 9370.

PCIe is backwards compatible, so a 3.0 card will work in a 2.0 slot without issue.

The bandwidth limitation isn't likely to be an issue either.

While I wouldn't recommend a 9370 + 1080TI setup, it should "work" just fine - although the PSU, depending on the specifics, may need replaced.
A 220W CPU + 250W (potential) GPU +maybe 50W for the balance of the setup = 520W
The 9370 can actually pull more than it's rared 220W TDP so, unless that's one of the best Corsair 650W PSU's, it may well be a little light for what you want to run from it.

Thank you for your opinion.
Today I have a great performance playing for example GTA V in Ultra at 2K, so I am expecting play all the games at 4K in ultra mode, do you think it would be possible just changing the GPU?

Thank you very much for your valuable opinion. I will take it for the next PC upgrade!

"All" Games at 4K / Ultra is a tough ask, despite a 1080TI.
Anything overly CPU intensive may have some problems with the slower cores of the 9370, although at higher resolutions, more work should be performed by the GPU.

Even a 1080TI isn't going to net you Ultra settings on every title. Lighter titles should do it just fine, but anything overly demanding (or simply poorly optimized) may not be achievable at Ultra settings. Medium-High should be a near guarantee on 99% of titles at 4K with a 1080TI though.
