Nvidia GTX 260 OC/GTX 280 OC vs Radeon 6670 OC

Right now, I have an AMD Phenom II X4 965 3.4ghz with 3.8ghz turbo, 4196MB of DDR3 1600MHZ RAM, and a GTX 260 OC.

I just filled out The Elder Scrolls Online beta testing application with an excellent chance of being accepted. I want to upgrade my graphics card slightly for this game. I'm on a really tight budget for now, but my dad is gonna help me get a new card by the summer. I'm 14 by the way.

Anyways, I'm wondering if a GTX 280 OC or Radeon 6670 OC (if thats even an upgrade) would be worth it. I want to upgrade because if I max Skyrim at 1360x768 I'm lucky to get 30fps. TES: O will probably used a tweaked graphics engine, so it will be even more demanding. I would like to run it maxed at at least 40 FPS constantly.

If none of these are really an upgrade, what are the next cheapest cards with good performance? A Radeon 6850?

BTW, I run at 690mhz core clock and 1140mhz memory when gaming. I have pushed up to 715mhz core clock and 1155mhz on GTA IV before with no artifacts, but I stopped because I wasn't gaining FPS anymore.

Those are very old, low end cards. I would recommend making a bigger jump than that. Going from where you are to them is a tiny step forward without much improvement. If you are strapped for cash, a GTX 650 Ti is under $200.

The 660 Ti is a great mid-range card. You can overclock that to get it right into higher end stuff. Should have no problem running most anything on nice settings.

Your CPU will hold you back a fair bit in an MMO, as they are fairly CPU intensive games.

Yeah, in the summer I can work up to 25 hours a week, and I will make around $700 to $800 a month. I'm going to build myself a new build with an i5-3570k at 4ghz, GTX 660 TI OC, 8GB of RAM, 1TB HDD and an SSD.

Also, I have a 32" TV as my monitor ATM and I play games at 1360x768. Someone else on here told me it should run at a way higher res than this?

It should, but your GPU can't go very high. The 660 Ti will help that.

Also, if you can, get a monitor. TVs have more input lag and lower pixel densities. They give less crisp, sharp images when gaming and can make it feel laggy.

Well what do you recommend for a GPU since I won't have the 660 TI for months? I just want something to play TES: O maxed at 1368x768.

Eh. You won't be maxing TES: O on anything less than a 660 Ti or MAYBE a 650 Ti. MAYBE.

A 650 Ti will play it fine, but I doubt it'll max the game at any more than 20FPS or so.
A Radeon HD 7850 is around $200. That is about the same as a 650Ti. Maybe a tiny bit better, but it lacks PhysX.
A 660 (non Ti) version is the old 660 and they can be found quite cheap now, since the new ones came out. That is an option.

Your CPU will, sadly, hold back your MMO gaming. You'll need a new motherboard to go with a new CPU. All together, you might be able to get an okay set for $200.

Yeah, we can get it in Australia for around $200. Obviously you'll pay more for the nicer coolers and overclocking potential. But that's still too much for them, sadly.
