i created a thread similar to this a few days ago but I did not find a solution so i'm rewriting it again.

I recently got a ASUS GTX 680 graphics card installed into my computer however there has been a problem with it.

I cant find any way to make the card work on my computer, according to device manager it reads that the card is there, but there is also another card that is above it called "intel(R) HD graphics 4000. I have tried disabling this card and seeing if that works but then my computer switches to the standard windows graphics card.
In the screen resolution settings there is an option for changing my screen to a screen labelled "available display output on: NVIDIA GeForce GTX 680 however trying to make this my main screen has led to only black screens and me having to restart my whole computer.
I have also updated all the necessary drivers for the card and tried just about everything I can find to fix this problem myself.

one thing i might add is that on the screen resolution settings the graphics card is coming up as a separate display which i can enable and switch to, however i get a black screen on my monitor if i try to, so there's some problem with it. i'll post a screenshot of it if that helps

Hello, Deskardo! I've been looking into many compatibility issues as I've been trying to upgrade my HP to a gtx 700 series card (a nightmare). I'd suggest to first search for the bios that is included in the card, seeing if there's a newer UEFI bios that can be applied. Not sure about your mobo or anything, but it may be a bios issues due to it being newer than the card. Not a guaranteed solution, but definitely worth a try. Second, power supply info would be helpful in finding a solution. It's a common issue to run into when trying to upgrade a gpu. The reason the screen would turn black is because the computer components are pulling too much power from the psu, which would shut the screen off to prevent the Power supply from...

The reason the screen would turn black is because the computer components are pulling too much power from the psu, which would shut the screen off to prevent the Power supply from destroying your pc. If a new uefi bios is not available (there is a 680 to 770 bios nvidia released), I'd contact the manufacturer or even EVGA to see if the exact problem can be identified. Good luck! Keep me posted on what you find out!
