I am building my first gaming pc. I have basically everything budgeted but the graphics card, and I am in a bit of a dilemma. I have just enough for the GTX 760, but if I sell my Ps3, I could bump it up to a GTX 770/280x and have some money leftover. What do you guys think? Is it worth ditching my console, which would just be a backup? Any input is appreciated, thanks…

A 770 has the edge over the 280x and the 760 is lower, what games will, you be playing as you may not need better than a 760, also your pc specs would be helpful to make sure your not bottlenecking

I would be playing games like Day z, titanfall, bf4, cs go ect... I'm getting a $90 gigabyte board, amd 6300 3.5/4.1 ghz processor, 600w power, 8 gig rip jaw, a decent case with plenty of cooling. Do you think the 760 is sensible? Perhaps in a few months I would go sli.

I sold my ps3 on craigslist yesterday and now can afford the 770 and a bit nicer of a motherboard/psu... Which 770 do you think will be most reliable? Msi, gigabyte, asus, evga ect.? I won't be overclocking; do you think I'll need to oc my CPU to make it keep up with the 770?

The most reliable GPU's are definitely the ones from EVGA and Asus. Gygabite is also good but not that great.
A 6300 will not bottleneck the GTX 770, normally, but it is very relative. It depends mostly on the game and how intense it is. If you see bottleneck, indeed can OC the CPU and it'll without a doubt solve it. Any other questions feel free to contact me!
