Hello,

I would to know if there is a difference between the 4 Gb Vram Nvidia Gtx 850m and the 2 Gb one for this same graphic card. Because Asus put those 2 versions in the same model of laptop (N751JK)...
Some told me that the amount of Vram is just a marketing feature but...$!?
4 gb is anyway better than 2, no?

Thanks, Bye.

Yeah, shadow of mordor with the HD textures for example, you need 4 gigs for ultra setting... and that is just for 1080p! Also when you're doing 3D animations, more video memory will help run run complex runtimes faster.

The 4GB and 2GB cards won't have any speed difference, VRAM is mostly dependent on the amount and resolutions of your textures, certain special effects, as well as your resolution. If you're doing heavy gaming, mutli-monitor, heavy textures, etc. The 4GB will perform better than the 2GB. How much extra is it? Is it sort of a marketing gimmick, but it can make a difference in certain circumstances and situations.
