I picked this idea somewhere on this forum, i can't remember where. I am going straight to the point: I would not recommend buying any of the gtx 900 series gpus until they are all in stock for more than one or two weeks, because:
1) at that time there will be reviews for every card( reviews on zotac gtx970 extreme edition for example are still scarce);
2) more people using the product make the possible problems more obvious and therefore you know what to expect and the manufacturer knows what needs to be fixed;
3) when the demand is high, the price is also high, though i'm not sure if this is very important once you decide to buy these cards;
I am looking to buy a gtx970 and i will certainly wait until i won't have to be rushed into getting it because of fear that the next day it will be out of stock.
What do you think?
