Nvidia HDMI 5.1 Audio Fill

I am running a HTPC with Kodi outputting 5.1 LPCM surround sound and digital passthrough to my Denon AVR-E300 receiver through HDMI. Kodi upmixes the stereo FLAC files I have to fill the six channels without any issues. I have looked all around for a way to get stereo audio played through another application (iTunes) to play through all of the speakers in my setup. I am using a GTX 960 with NVIDIA High Definition Audio, but there is no 'Speaker Fill' option like there is for the Realtek outputs. The receiver will not let me switch to a mode other than 'Multi In'. Is there a way to have my center and surround channels play?

Try using an external codec like FFdshow to upmix the stereo to 5.1 tracks. If you insist on iTunes (which to my knowledge does not support DirectShow external codecs), your receiver should also have a stereo upmix setting. Look around here for advice:
