Question NVIDIA Installer Failed when trying to install drivers

Hi guys, Ive been struggling with this issue for a day now, and nothing seems to work. Yesterday when i tried to update my nvidia drivers, it failed and suddenly my second monitor stopped working and its yet to come back. Suspiciously, windows updated right before i did this, so maybe that was the reason it failed. The image below shows what happens every time i try and install drivers:

Ive tried following many guides to fix this, most of them looked like this one: https://www.nvidia.com/en-us/geforc...-ensure-your-drivers-are-installed-properly-/ - Delete all NVIDIA related stuff, go into safe mode, use DDU, reboot and try again, but it never works.
Something i noticed was that in device manager, i don't have a 'display adapter' section at all, but a bunch of the guides say that i should. All i have is something called 'Video controller (VGA Compatible)' under the 'Other Devices' section, shown in the image below:

If anyone can offer me some help i'd greatly greatly appreciate it, because the only thing i can think to do is a fresh windows install now, which i'd really rather not have to do unless i absolutely have to. Thanks in advance

Hey I'm having the same problem with a 1060, did you find a fix? Pulling my hairs out right now :/
