Comeon Nvidia, I am pretty sure everyone is more excited on the desktop GPUs instead of mobile GPUs. Give us some news about Geforce 700 series desktop cards!

[citation][nom]joytech22[/nom]Why don't they ever release their high-end with their low-mid range stuff?This is why I'm still on a 7970M.[/citation]

Because it's easier to rebrand stuff than to print the new silicon dies.

EDIT: BTW, Nividia and AMD are both guilty of the rebranding.

"Dude, what do you mean the 610m is actually a slightly higher clocked 520m? And that the 420m creams both 610m and 520m? Isn't 610 is higher than 420?"

yea, 90fps in starcraft 2, yes you can do amazeing things with a gpu once you reduce the graphics in a game to nothing.

hell im sure i got tf2 to run off a 3 core amd laptop with intergrated (non apu) graphics to about 60fps when i reduced the graphics to next to nothing hand decreased the resolution a bit too.

Will they do the GTX 300s thing again? Release a rebranded product just for notebooks, then call the next-gen desktop part GTX 800s? That makes you feel like your card went from flagship to two generations behind in a metter of months.

I say stop making these things more powerful and start making these things require little to passive cooling. I mean come on, who the hell wants a powerhouse when your gonna hear the fans of your laptop at their loudest settings even with headphones on?

The methods of branding from AMD and Nvidia should be illegal.

The GTX680m is NOT a GTX680 but more so a down clocked GTX670. If AMD or Nvidia want to release a mobile badge then the pipelines on the GTX680m should match the GTX680. Nvidia can always lower the core and memory frequency to lower voltage requirements.

If Either companies can't get a 680 to work at those settings then maybe they should call it a damn 680m. MAYBE they should just call it a damn 670m as their top end mobile GPU. The people who truely understand this are the ones who got a $2200 notebook with a 680m, thinking they'll get playable frame rates just like their desktop 680 in Crysis 3 ultra and go find out it completely sucks.

Oh wait, I am one of those people. SCREW YOU AMD, NVIDIA mobile branding. We should SUE you!

(680m spec)
Core count: 1344
GPU clock: 720mhz
Memory interface: 256bit

(670 spec)
Core count: 1344
GPU clock: 915
Memory interface: 256bit

(680 spec)
Core count: 1536
GPU clock: 1006
Memory interface: 256bit

Do away with all the "M" tags! Intel and AMD CPUs are just as bad. Intel will release a mobile i5 CPU and your not getting a quadcore but more so a dualcore with Hyperthreading, >_>

The GTX 680MX should have been the 680M and the 680M should have been the 670M... A Titan Mobile should be as fast as a desktop 680 since the 680mx is already approximately as fast as a 660Ti.

"There is an elegant simplicity to Nvidia's GeForce 700M notebook technologies," said Rene Haas, vice president and general manager of the notebook business unit at Nvidia. "You use your notebook how you want, and GeForce makes your experience awesome."

Now that's good advertising.

It always worries me when the main selling points are all of these "marketing buzzwords". I love my laptop gaming, I haven't touched my desktop in years. But there is a lot of deception they way they market these products sometimes.
