"The 540M runs at 672MHz, while the 435M is at 650MHz. On the memory side, the newer GPU is at 900MHz, while the older GPU hit 8000MHz."
Yeah that's 800mhz not 8000 but it's okay we are humans.

[citation][nom]xurwin[/nom]at $350 beating the 6850 in xfire? i COULD say this would be a pretty good deal, but why no 6870 in xfire? but with a narrow margin ang if you need cude. this would be a pretty sweet deal, but i'd also wait for 6900's but for now. we have a winner?[/citation]

What are you even talking about? That it is not even relevant to the article...

-.-

Anyways nice to see Nvidia using false naming schemes yet again to make $$$.

[citation][nom]chromie[/nom]Nvidia's numbering system is very strange...i think the 8800-9800-gts250 story is going to repeat again.[/citation]

Ya, really, but seriously, a 22Mhz core increase and a 100Mhz memory increase? I think "a significant increase in fill-rate and memory bandwidth" is stretching it, though the other part of the sentence "which ultimately translates to better overall performance." is true, even if it's most likely < 3% of an improvement (at best, I'll give them the benefit of the doubt).

just don't peel off the sticker label on that 435M...

Seriously, Nvidia has become the relabel king here. When looking at laptop GPUs, I have to go search for what Core they use and get all the stats before even considering one. Model numbers don't tell the public anything.

AMD did this, at least reasonable:

HD5470 --> HD6300M

Hey Nvidia brings us "2 GENERATIONS" for every AMD 1 Gen, hooray...
GT300M/GT400M (another rebrand) vs Mobility HD5000

Is it me or nvidia will use all of their GT*** naming before AMD even reaches the HD8000 series (2012)?

2011 --> GT600/700 (one more if they face major failures)

Does anyone have experience with this vidcard? Regardless of stupid naming, does the card perform?
