Hi,

so, yesterday, I downloaded the new 376.33 video card driver. I rebooted and then my screen resolution was set to 800x600. My native resolution is 1920x1080 but I only could set it to 1280x1024. I tried to roll back my driver, but I have no "Display Adapter" tree. I also tried to install my previous driver (269.59) but theres an error. What should I do? My laptop has a 555M nvidia video card.

Solution
You're 100% sure it was 376.33-notebook-win8-win7-64bit-international-whql.exe correct?
The standard 376.33 will not work with your system and would cause major problems.

Use DDU to unistall all remnants of all drivers for your PC, any and all instances of drivers should be deleted.

Then proceed to install 376.33-notebook-win8-win7-64bit-international-whql.exe

And you should be good to go.

DDU is a fantastic tool that everyone should utilize when working with drivers.

http://www.nvidia.com/Download/index.aspx?lang=en-us

use drop boxes ''Manually find drivers ''

gforce - 500m ''notebook'' - gt 555m I assume windows 7 ?

should get this

http://www.nvidia.com/download/driverResults.aspx/113446/en-us

then look at supported products tab to see your card and there all under ''notebook''

http://www.nvidia.com/download/driverResults.aspx/113446/en-us

http://www.nvidia.com/Download/index.aspx?lang=en-us

then look at additional information tab and review the drivers release notes to see if anything has changed or issues over the last one that you maybe running in to ?

http://us.download.nvidia.com/Windows/376.33/376.33-win10-win8-win7-notebook-release-notes.pdf

was there a issue with the old driver or your card that made you try a new driver ?

Hit start, type "dxdiag" hit enter.
go to the Display tab
