nvidia or Radeon+freesync? does freesync worth it?

I haven't tried either freesync or gsync but I heard they're pretty good.
and as you all know that free sync is almost 200$ cheaper than gsync monitors.
yet the nvidia cards are better overall.
so for the same performance and price is freesync worth going for radeon over nvidia for someone willing to buy 144hz monitor?

the issue here is that amd dont have a current gen card that is capable of really pushing a 144htz screen whereas nvidia do with both the 1070 & 1080.

You dont pay any kind of premium for a freesync monitor at all ,gsync you pay a huge premium for.

No issue with the games I'm planning to play @144fps. They're cs go, insurgency, Combat arms and such. pretty sure 480 will handle them well.
