Nvidia out of the game?

Solution

well as long as we can keep this discussion good then no problem but i do think such title could lead to flame war. in the past it is really easy to happen 😛

anyway back on topic. at the very least i don't think nvidia will giving up easily. that company have survive tough situation before so if they play their card right they will do just fine.
Please dont be serious here. Nvidia is nowhere near out of the game. Console hardware is not that important to a graphics card maker. It also does not impact the PC market, where Nvidia has arguably the best single highest performance card out there.

No, you can never count out one of the two biggest players in GPUs. Hell, ATi was almost dead in the water several times but here they are. I don't see nVidia ever dying and that's a good thing because it keeps competition alive in exactly the same way that AMD does. One may prefer one side over the other for whatever reasons but we all agree that you must have more than one major player in any segment of the industry. If you don't, stagnation sets in and that is bad for all of us.

Dis made me have good feels.
I totally agree.

I just want rational peoples opinions.

Agreed.
Good to hear though, i was worried that i was going to have to sell my gtx 770 because it was going to lack in the future.

NVidia guys may have some rough times ahead though.

The 770 is still a very powerful card and will last a while. Once it needs replacement there will probably be a whole new lineup of cards, which is going to be an entirely new ballgame most likely. They still hold the arguably single most powerful single gpu card out there. They may have some issues, but its nothing for them to worry about. The 780ti is supposed to bring some pressure back on.

The Ti's are due any time and the 8xx Maxwell line is due the 1st quarter of 2014, how the Ti's fair will probably help set the release date for Maxwell---which will probably be closely followed by price drops on the R7 and R9s and AMD trying to beef them up even more to include a really maxed out model topping 1K

Nvidia's performance is very competitive now, even without the 780ti. The 780ti may even be the top card when it is released.

Mantle may give AMD some extra performance in a few games a year. PhysX gives Nvidia some extra sparkle in a few games a year.

Nvidia has G-sync coming out at the beginning of next year, and conceptually, is quite ground breaking with everyone who has seen it, claiming it to be a huge step forward.

Nvidia should be just fine.
