I recently acquired a Nvidia Quadro 4000 GPU and I hooked it to my windows computer and then hooked it up through a DVI to VGA adapter to a monitor and I didn't get anything on the monitor.

The card's fan spun up and there was a red indicator on, on the underside of the card.

Now for my questions.

First off I heard the card is for Mac only is that true? If so is that why I didn't get anything to display.

Now for my 2nd question if the card is compatible with a Windows desktop, could it be an incompatibility with my motherboard I will post what kind of desktop I tried it on below.

Compaq CQ5302f

Here is a Link with the specifications of said computer. http://www.cnet.com/products/compaq-presario-cq5302f-celeron-450-2-2-ghz-2-gb-320-gb/specs/

Solution

It would be part of your power supply. That Compaq probably doesn't have a power supply that has a 6 pin PCIe connector. You might be able to use a two molex plug to PCIe adapter.
