I just bought a PC with a NVidia Quadro k1200 in it. i7 4790k, 8gb Ram, now my question is it better than maybe GTX 970 turbo? Because the price is the same. I can still return the Quadro. but I would like to know did I bought the right one? This PC is for rendering only not gaming. Thanks!

the k1200 is 128bit 4GB GDDR5

There's pros and cons on each of those cards

Quadro, since it's a workstation card it provide a higher fps when navigating in viewports, finer texture details and more realistic shading, while the GTX may struggle. It also create a better details such as better anti-aliasing, precise line, smoother edges and better rendering quality.

The GeForce, is naturally made for a fast paced calculation while details have to be sacrificed (gaming). When comparing both of the cards you have, chances are the 970 will beat the k1200 in the render time most of the times. But the k1200 will provide a better quality and details.

Summary:
Quadro for precision details.
GeForce for speed.

So? Your call.
