Question NVIDIA RTX 2060 6gb locked at 60hz

I have a 144hz monitor (Samsung C27FG7x) and an RTX 2060 6gb, the monitor is connected to the gpu via display port and as of recently ive been locked down to 60hz. Im not sure when this changed, i havent changed any hardware and ive tried several clean gpu driver uninstalls through DDU and nvidia, when i go to display adapter properties to display all models it only lists 50-60hz options when in the past it would list up to 144. Im really at a loss as for what to do

Do you have the actual drivers for your display installed, or just the generic "plug and play" drivers that comes with Windows?

the actual drivers, latest GRD from nvidia vers 516.94, as for the actual monitor itself, i havent been able to find any other drivers for it from samsung other than the 1.0 drivers they have on their website https://www.samsung.com/us/support/downloads/?model=N0052188

Try (re)installing the Samsung drivers to see if that makes a difference.

Make sure your display firmware is current as well.

i reinstalled it again, and for a split second it showed the 144hz, i applied it, and when i confirmed the changes it disappeared again

ive tried the other 2 display ports, no changes, i dont have another display cable to test out though. what are the odds its the problem?

It very well could be a cable issue. The ones shipped with displays are often rather mediocre.

Just for grins, do you have a HDMI cable?

just took the one from my other monitor, plugged it into this one, able to 120hz with no issues, looks like i might have to risk buying a new display cable
