Following the now-banned H20, Nvidia is reportedly designing new RTX Pro 6000D (B40) GPUs for the Chinese market, which use consumer-grade GDDR7 memory instead of HBM.

Nvidia is turning out to be quite good at the game of regulatory whack-a-mole.

China already has chips that surpasses the B40 performance and with the possibility of further bans going down the performance ladder. Few corporations that’s looking for long term development stability will be enticed to buy these so called bottom tier ‘garbage chip’ at a premium. The government would also probably step in with new anti-dumping laws to restrict the flow of these GPUs especially if they’re desperate enough to try undercuting the prices of locally developed silicon.

I really hope this doesn't use GB202 (though it's almost certain). It's already next to impossible to get GB202 based products in the west as Nvidia seems to prioritize shipments to China to get ahead of any potential bans.
