NVIDIA video card geforce gt 610

hi everyone, I bought a pre assembled PC from a firend who owns an hardware shop. so i got a NVIDIA video card geforce gt 610, but it seems like the card is getting worse every day. in the first 2-3 monthe i could play lots of heavy games on very high setings, but now my pc can barely handle low settings. is this a video card problem or i am doing something wrong?

I'm not sure what type of problem it is but it sound surprising you were at all able to play games on high settings, this card is not very good for gaming

maybe not very high but all games were kinda fluent, but now i just can't play any game like before

That is a very weak graphic card. Most, if not all GT610's only have 1GB of memory on them. And then the card itself is almost ancient now. Like me.

I guess a better way to put it is like this. There is a reason that these GT610 cards are cheap.

The old adage that you get what you pay for clearly applies when it comes to CPU's and GPU's.

In helping someone else earlier this morning, someone found a GT630 at Newegg for about the same price. The GT 630 is a refurbished card, but it is a better card than the GT610. And it has 2Gb of memory on the card.

And this GT630 next card is new. Made by Asus. And also has 2GB on it.

Hopefully you can move up to one of these. your games will run better, but in a couple of years you are going to need to upgrade again.

honestly its just that gpu th gt610 is god awful slow almost any new low end cards are better that this. Passmark gave this card a score of 356 this is a 40 doller card the fact it played anything from the past year or so is some luck. if you want better fps get a better gpu go for that 80-100 doller sweet spot like gt740 $80 or radeon r7 250 $80
