In January, Nvidia should have the final samples and a limited number of Fermi Geforce GT300 chips, but the launch might take place later.

If pushed, Nvidia might launch Fermi Geforce in late January as the final chips should be there by then, but real volume shipments should start towards end of Q1 2010.

The most realistic availability date is March 2010, and again only if everything goes right. Judging by our previous information, Nvidia delayed its plans by more than one, if not two quarters.

This is rather unpleasant for Nvidia and the only thing that really keeps Nvidia sane is the fact that ATI also suffers from massive shortages of its 40nm RV870 based chips.

I'm not convinced tbh, we've been hearing that from AMD for a while now.

When I checked out Scan.co.uk today, there still wasnt a single 58xx, and what's worse - there are hardly any 5770's now too. If it's getting better, it sure isn't showing in the uk.

Honestly for one of the top suppliers in the UK that situation is pathetic. One 5770 card, which will probably be gone by monday.

"In January, Nvidia should have the final samples and a limited number of Fermi Geforce GT300 chips, but the launch might take place later."

This just seems like the same conjecture that arrived after hearing how basically tsmc has been failing at producing at 40nm

I could see a ATI refresh Q3 of next year but i doubt with yeilds and crap that ATI will be spending time for a quick refresh unless it produces magic or something.

Getting a 5850 isn't too hard i've seen them in 2 frys and 2 bestbuys so far in my area.

What is the price dealio anyways with poor yeilds? does ATI and nvidia have to pay full price of the silicone and manufacture costs when only half of the chips are passable or do they just pay for the ones that work? If not ATI is boned in getting moneys worth out of this.

Another launch date from Fuad? Why does he even bother anymore?

So now we've gone from October to November (OH don't believe the rumours, there's no yield issues, it'll be ready, no problems), to December, to January, to now March (but maybe still January since it's not January yet and so we can say January... who said Novemeber, not me....) :sarcastic:

There's more press about what nV is not launching than what they are actually launching (the flurry of GT21x 40nm DX10.1 cards).

Wake me up when it's on store shelves.

Yeah, I am gonna take a break from keeping up with the fermi threads until there is something real to talk about. But, you ask, how will I know if I don't keep up? At this point, I don't care anymore, the 8 months of forum conjecture has burned me out on the whole damn thing~
