So i'm fixing to build a new pc this summer and i've pretty much have it all narrowed down, gonna get intel's new devil's canyon i7 chip, an msi z97 board, etc. But what i havent figured out is what gpu i'll be purchasing and this is mainly due to the fact that it appears that maxwell is right around the corner and i wouldn't mind waiting if it was coming "soon". I mean the GTX 750ti is already out and thats on maxwell architecture, but its very low performing compared to the high end keplar cards so it's not something i envision running a 2560x1400 resolution.

What is the likelyhood of more mid-high range maxwell based cards coming out soon? They're all gonna be 28nm more than likely and thats perfectly fine even if they perform comparably to the current keplar cards because we all know how power efficient this new architecture is and that alone would be worth upgrading or in my case waiting for to put into a completely new build.

Considering the rise of 4K and the inadequacy from anything in AMD or Nvidia's lineup to run it all out at a decent price ($1500 and $3000 is lunacy) I think its reasonable to assume there will be some fresh cards in the summer.

$1500 let alone $3000 for a single piece of the puzzle to a build is indeed lunacy, in fact i made a respectable demo machine on pcpp for $1200 that included the latest haswell i5, a 770, and 8gb of ram.

Still i would love to see like an 870 that can match a 780 while sucking up half the power and all at a cost of say $400, maybe i'm just dreaming
