A Chiphell forum member shared a photograph of the new AD103-301 silicon that will power some GeForce RTX 4080 cards. The changes could result in better margins for Nvidia's partners, though PCB ups may also be required.

$1 dollar is a very nice saving from the BOM, that'll likely mean hundreds of thousands of dollars saved for the bigger manufacturers. Doesn't effect us plebs though lol.

But based on what we have read, the margins from 4080 are not too good for AIB (that is why EVGA did stop selling Nvidia GPUs. They get much better margins from AMD GPUs at this moment... Considering the prices of 4080, it does not look bright if there is not room ro reduce prices.
