Nvlddmkm error + registry issues

Hi,

Having trouble with windows and its getting to the point when I'm at my wits end. Let me try to reconstruct the events which led to this :

Everything was working fine till..

1.)I opened/played a song by mistake while still downloading, which caused the pc to hang/crash, then did a manual reboot

2.)Next thing, windows starts spewing errors related to the network card (i.e. network always stays limited, stuck at identifying in the network panel

3.)Then had no choice but to refresh, but being the idiot that I was, did not fully understood that refresh = wiping all previously installed programs

4.)Then proceeded to try to play around with the ntuser, user profile (copying the user profiles/ntuser.dat file from the windows.old folder to the new one) to restore the previously installed programs, what happened next was a disaster on a catastrophic level.

5.)The copying of the profiles did nothing but corrupt one of my storage hard disks by displaying incorrect space left, reformatted the disk and all was fine, temporarily at least.

6.)Then, the errors started to show up like nobody's business, i start having warnings/errors in the event log that the "registry was unable to flush the hive", "user profile handles still open whilst shutting down" etc.

7.)To top it off, i soon started having connectivity issues, can't remember the exact errors but what i did was to disable the ipv6 and it worked for awhile, until recently, where all the other computers in the home was able to connect to the internet except mine (eventviewer would show failed to resolve dns of a certain webpage)

8.)And to add to the nightmare, a few days back, i updated my gpu drivers and started having nvlddmkm errors show up in the eventviewer, whilst playing games or watching movies/streaming, the error would start to appear after a random amount of time (Gpu load was 30+% and temps were around 50 degrees), also noticed that my speakers started to have static during playback + the secondary speaker which was utilized by my player did not show any activity in the playback devices menu in the taskbar

9.)The nvlddmkm error would show up as the kernel driver has crashed and has recovered or something along the lines of that. The crashes can be described as a screen freeze/black screen in games with sound still playing fine. Intermittent pauses/freezes after the crash has recovered, where it freezes up for 5-7 seconds and my cursor is able to move again, this lasts as long until restart

Steps taken to try to resolve issues

-Disabled IPv6 connectivity in the network card
-Rolled back to the previous gpu driver before the crashes
-Tried sfc scannow but it only triggered the nvlddmkm error when it completed at 100%
-Tried expanding the nvlddmkm file located in nvidia folder to replace the one in the system32/drivers folder, but failed at the expanding step
-Ran avast antivirus and malwarebytes to check for viruses and malware - none found
-Haven't got the time to do memtest yet, but i don't think it's the ram that's causing the problems
-Tried using registry cleaner or some program to the same effect( can't remember, this was done at least a few months back in 6.))
-Set the power option to maximum performance from adaptive for the gpu in nvidia control panel
-Also changed the registry owner controls for one program called runtime broker in regedit as it was showing up as an error in eventviewer (can't remember the event id or event name)

Please help, at my wits end. Eventviewer log to follow, when i'm home.

Sorry for the wall of text and thanks in advance!

Can't believe playing a song whilst still downloading would cause that amount of grief! Think I'd be looking sideways at your Hardware. Try running on one stick of RAM at a time, and run Seatools for Windows if you can. Actually best if you can run Seatools and Memtest from a bootable drive, as your Windows installation can't be trusted.

Alright thanks! Will try these when i get home, hardware seem to be functioning well i think, but no harm giving it a try. Got a gut feeling that its the registry that's screwed up.

ok here's the event logs, I've separated them into 2, one of the logs contain a select few errors, the other, the whole 2000 odd errors if you bother to look at it, but it would be beneficial to look from the earliest entries to see where the problem originated i think.

select few events :

all events:
http://

Memtest and Seatool ran fine, couldn't get seatool to start the tests in dos mode, it simply hanged. Instead ran it in windows with no errors, but ran memtest in dos and it had 0 errors.

Any ideas on how to fix this? Appreciate any help i could get. Thanks!

Event log analysis not one of my strong points, but I suspect you're heading towards a full reset or re-install. Much points toward the GPU, and a VRAM failure can have interesting results. Only a replacement GPU will rule that out...
I see errors associated with FIFA13 going way back beyond June, often recommending running chkdsk to repair damaged files.
Won't do any harm to run chkdsk...
At CMD Prompt(Admin)
Type chkdsk /f /r then Enter. (note spaces before /). Type Y and Enter to run the program when you restart Windows. Expect it to take a long time if you have a large drive. Use this to check out the chkdsk log

Alright, will proceed to do chkdsk once i reach home, if that fails, will a refresh do? or does it have to be a reformat of the entire C drive?

Meantime, will try to RMA the Gpu, to see if the problems still persist. Do you think a registry cleaner like ccleaner or this : http:// will help?

Won't do any harm to try, but you have so many errors it's hard to see how they can be fixed other than a clean, fresh start. Then introduce everything one at a time to see if you can isolate one driver/game/software/process that is giving you grief. Try chkdsk and Ccleaner, if no joy clean install by deleting all partitions and installing to Unallocated Space using Drive Options (Advanced) at the 'Where do you want to install' screen. If your GPU is failing I would expect you to experience problems during install...

Ok, I've done the chkdsk, and sfc/ scannow, followed by the dism/ scanhealth and checkhealth and ccleaner. The errors and warnings are mostly gone but there' still the issue of the system not being able to flush the registry hive and user profile handles leaking.

Also, a new error showed up in the form the device setup manager crashing at every boot. Tried going to device manager to see which device was causing the crash but it was inconclusive. Will go home and do a trial and error to isolate the devices.

Did some googling around as well and found out that the AFD and aswd? awdi? warnings/errors in the eventviewer are linked to avast and there's no solution/workaround at the moment. guess i have to live with it then.

But, i found some strange items, such as, the software protection and a few other core services in services.msc not working(stopped), switched most of them to start automatically and started the services, but software protection in particular, wouldn't start (it would start and then stop on its own a few seconds later), and the startup type option/droplist is greyed out, any idea how to change it to start automatically, instead of automatic(delayed).

Lastly, need some help with the DCOM errors, i have no idea what those are and how to go about fixing them.

Any way of solving the issues?

Thank you!

Services stopped? All the hallmarks of a virus! Did you know that M'soft Security Essentials is inbuilt to Windows Defender, and reacts less than favourably to 3rd party Anti Virus? Security Essentials should be enough cover for normal Internet use, so try removing the others to see if matters improve. Think I'd be tempted to run a bootable Antivirus (AVG?) in case of rootkits, too.
