Question Nvme and m.2 ssd upgrade

I just bought asus tuf fx505dt and wanted to add ssd as there was non when i bought it..
I bought a crucial mx500 m.2 ssd but it was not showing either in bios or drive manager. When i visited a technician he told me that this laptop does not support m.2 but nvme.
Can someone please tell me if its possible and if so how are they different. And a possible solution as well.

I think you need a new technician.
anyway he probably mean it only support nvme m.2 and not sata m.2

How are they different. and is buying another drive the only fix?
