[SOLVED] NVMe and the GA-870A-UD3

I have the mb GA-870A-UD3 and i've scavenged a NVMe ssd from a YOGA 910. I'd like to know if the 1TB SSD can be installed on my motherboard. I've been reading on it for a while and I understand more, but I still don't know if it can be installed on my system.

On the motherboard natively? No, there's no M.2 support.

A PCIe addon card could probably allow you to "use" the M.2 SSD, but a board of that era isn't going to support booting from it.

Will not work as the 870 does not have the right firmware to boot of an NVMe.

Saying that, you could get a NVME to sata adapter and plug in to standard SATA port, you may max out the SATA ports bandwidth but not to the performance of native NVMe.
