how do I know that my motherboard will support nvme pcie ssd? I tried with an SSD fixed into the DVD writer slot. It's working. There is no SSD card slot available.

I ran an MBoard scan and it shows

Slot Number 0

Solution
No your laptop cannot support a NVme drive. However it can support a standard 2.5inch SSD such as the Crucial MX500, Samsung 860, WD Blue 3D NAND, etc.

However to do this you will need to replaced your current HDD. You can clone your HDD over to a new SSD fairly easy. The easiest way would be to buy a cable like this https://www.amazon.com/StarTech-com-SATA-USB-Cable-USB3S2SAT3CB/dp/B00HJZJI84 , plug the SSD into the SATA end, and then the USB into your laptop.

After that you will need to initialized your new SSD. Then you will download and run a cloning software such as this https://www.macrium.com/reflectfree and essentially make a 1 to 1 copy of your HDD to the new SSD.

After that you will need to power off your laptop, open it up, inplug the HDD that is in there and replace it with the new cloned SSD. It should boot up without any issues.

Here is a decent disassembly video
