I recently picked up a refurbished NVMe drive off ebay for $21. It was an OEM Samsung drive (Samsung Internal SSD MZ-FLV2560 256GB PM951). The read speeds on it are fine, but the write speeds aren't.

Here is a screenshot I took of crystal disk mark: https://image.prntscr.com/image/z1QRUVlQRYqrZ9ZZZAW4LQ.png
At first, I thought of updating the firmware, but I can't use Samsung Magician because it is OEM. Does anyone have any idea on what I could do to fix it?

300-ish is the native transfer rate for the 256 once you exceed the buffer size on the drive.
or it could be that you were transferring many smaller files which also do not get to use the high speed sequential transfer speeds that manufacturers love to advertise.
