[SOLVED] NVMe M.2 installation on Strix X470 F-Gaming mobo

I've been looking at my mobo manual and I still can't figure out something; does it matter which M.2 slot I put my NVMe ssd in ? It's rated for NVMe Gen3 in x4 PCIe mode. I want to use the second M.2 slot since it's not covered by a huge plastic shroud I'd have to remove.

Put in the 1 that is above the 1st pcie slot.

The the1 uncovered is 3.0 x2
So better speeds from slot 1.

If it's not going to be you OS drive then yes you could use #2
But for best or optimum speeds slot 1.
