I just bought a Samsung 970 EVO Plus NVMe ssd as a secondary storage device, but my motherboard doesn't have a M2 slot so it's connected via a PCIe adapter. After booting windows I can't see the drive come up as a storage location and I can't find it in the BIOS (I get that it's not bootable with my motherboard). I downloaded the driver from the samsung website but it's still not being discovered.

Motherboard is ASUS P8Z77V (Socket 1155)
Adapter is https://www.overclockers.co.uk/akasa-m.2-ssd-to-pcie-adapter-card-cc-008-ak.html

Am I missing something or is one of these parts faulty?

Thanks
