[SOLVED] NVMe SSD M.2 refuses to work with my HDD after cloning

I bought a Kingston 1TB A2000 NVMe PCIe SSD M.2 2280, 2200/2000 MB/s to upgrade my laptop Asus FX553VD. The SSD does work on its own with a clean windows install, but when I clone my HDDto my SSD it refuses to boot even though I've changed the boot order in bios for theSSD to boot first. I use the programAcronis True Image OEM for the cloning. When i try to boot I get a message displaying "Reboot and select proper boot device or insert boot media in selected boot device and press a key". Everything runs smoothly with the HDD and the old SSD together. When i take the SSD out it just refuses to boot even though the os is on the HDD. Same thing happens when I insert the new SSD.

Cloning a SATA drive to a NVMe drive is not a straight up transfer. Expect to have numerous problems - legacy .vs UEFI installation.

Yep, I assume that OP has followed https://kb.acronis.com/content/2931 to do it.

I use the programAcronis True Image OEM for the cloning.

I've already tried that. It said that it couldn't be repaired.

Yes there have been quite a lot of problems for the past 3 days. Also yeah i've tried to boot it with legacy and UEFI. No luck.

I've also tried EaseUs cloning and macrium reflect. No luck with either of them.

Okay im in luck then, because right this moment im using AOMEI for the cloning.

Also, I would uninstall intel rapid storage - it may cause issues if you have it.

Well now it's stuck on the "Asus In Search Of Incredible" logo. The loading circle under it just froze.

At the end of the clone process, did you:
Power OFF
Disconnect all the old drives
Power Up with only the new drive

Yes i had to because it got stuck.
And no i didn't disconnect anything right after. When i decided to shut it down and turning it on again because it was stuck i powered it up only with the new drive. It said windows is repairing and it was diagnosing stuff then it said "your pc did not start correctly"

At the end of the clone process, the very first thing to do is power off, disconnect all other drive, and see if the system will power UP with only the new drive.

As said, though...SATA -> NVMe often fails.
For a Samsung target drive, try it again with the Samsung Data Migration tool.

Specific steps for a successful clone operation:

Verify the actual used space on the current drive is significantly below the size of the new SSD
Download and install Macrium Reflect (or Samsung Data Migration, if a Samsung SSD)
Power off
Disconnect ALL drives except the current C and the new SSD
Power up
Run the Macrium Reflect (or Samsung Data Migration)
Select ALL the partitions on the existing C drive
Click the 'Clone' button
Wait until it is done
When it finishes, power off
Disconnect ALL drives except for the new SSD
This is to allow the system to try to boot from ONLY the SSD
Swap the SATA cables around so that the new drive is connected to the same SATA port as the old drive
Power up, and verify the BIOS boot order
If good, continue the power up

It should boot from the new drive, just like the old drive.
Maybe reboot a time or two, just to make sure.

If it works, and it should, all is good.

Later, reconnect the old drive and wipe all partitions on it.
This will probably require the commandline diskpart function, and the clean command.

Ask questions if anything is unclear.

Alright thank you. Last time when the cloning was done it got stuck at the asus logo. If that happens again do i just power off and proceed with your instructions?

Yes.
And if that also fails...a clean install is the next option.
