Nvme ssd on a p75-d3 motherboard?

I am looking to buy an nvme ssd for my Gyagbyte p75-d3 motherboard and an adapter to go along with it(the mother doesn't have m. 2 native support).
Will this setup work?

It might work but you will not be able to boot from it.
