NVME SSD's in RAID 0 on an MSI GT-72

I've ordered an MSI GT-72 laptop, and it's coming with one M.2 512GB SSD, and one 1TB 2.5" SSD.

I'd like to add a second M.2 NVME 512GB SSD, and then use them in RAID 0 as a single drive.

Since the NVME drive will have the OS on it, will I need to do a clean install of the OS, or is them some way to preserve the data on the first drive when I combine them in RAID 0?

Does that laptop even have two M.2 slots and support NVME Raid? I didn't see anything about it in the specs. You might possibly be able to clone the OS to the hard drive and then boot up on it, create your RAID array and then clone the OS system back. Not sure if that would work, but an interesting idea.

It has 4 NVME M.2 slots, believe it or not, and does support NVME RAID. Many of the higher-end configurations come pre-set that way.

You're right, of course. I have Steam on my desktop split between an SSD and an HDD. I just thought it might be worth trying, especially since I'm not concerned about data loss with Steam.

Sometimes even Army NCO's get lazy.
