Hi all. I want to know if possible to add an nvme pci card to my system. It only has 1 pcie 16x 3.0 with my gtx zotac 1060 8gb in it and one other slot so I dont think its possible due to the speed of the slot which is only (x1 pcie2.0). Can anyone confirm? Im a bit confused with all these pci and ocie slots with x16, x4 etc speeds lol.

Specs for pcie on my board:

1 x PCI Express x16 slot, running at x16
(The PCIEX16 slot conforms to PCI Express 3.0 standard.)
(With my GPU occupying currently)

2 x PCI Express x1 slots
(The PCI Express x1 slot conforms to PCI Express 2.0 standard.)

I cant add an add in card to support an nvme pcie ssd can I? Im thinking not and would have to upgrade/get new the mobo and then cpu/ram since I'm on a 4th gen haswell i5 still and most board with m.2 nvme or an additional pcie 16 3.0 slot are all lga 1151 or more which would require a newer lga 1151 cpu and ddr4 ram of course.... Maybe time to do so. Thoughts please? Thank you!

If anyone can recomme d a decent 1151 lga board and cou combo with m.2 nvme support or even on board Im all ears.

Thank you!

Could someone a bit more knowledgeable tell me if this board would support nvme either in the m.2 slot.on board or via pcie slot with an add in card? I may ourchase this combo and ram to go with.

Thank you Calvin7, much appreciated. I didnt think so and dont have the extra ocie slot needed fir an add in card anyways so im looking at a full mobo/cpu/ddr4 upgrade at this point. Costly but its time Im afraid lol.

I believe my combo puck would work as blackbird says but I dont really need the 6-core. A quad i5 would be pkenty with an nvme ssd also so id be open to similar setup with nvme suppirt.in an lga 1151 4core i5 too if anyone has a recomme dation theyre really happy with.
