Hello,
Hope you everyone is well and safe.

Just bought a WD SN550 and have added is to my Asus Sabertooth Z97 Mark 2 via a Orico Expansion card.

The PC does not recognize this, and I am unsure if there is a Bios setting that is to be toggled on.
The worst thing i want to hear is that the Motherboard is too old and not compatible.

Anyone have tips or ideas to assist in troubleshooting this?

Thank you,

Solution
Hi there, playing around and updating Bios has resolved this.
I wont be risking using this as a Main OS drive, but SSD has become stable after installing a clean OS.

Thank you everyone for helping. :)
Players with some bios settings.
Under storage controllers I see:
Standard nvm express controller.

Disk management now shows it also and it has been formatted for use.

Are we sure this cannot be used as my main OS drive?
As mentioned my 256gb ssd is "crashing".

One line in Device Manager should say something about "Orinco".

I'd expect maybe a faulty adapter.

As far as booting from that? On a Z97 level board, that is a 100% maybe.

What BIOS version is it?
NVMe support requires v2205
(that may or may not include booting from that)
