Just got the game, downloaded the patch and the CEP in anticipation of
multi on-line play. Started playing a little single-player. (I am also
an old pen and paper D&D nerd - whoa - what an admission!)

anyhow, I want to get started in some multi internet play. Should I
master the single player interface first, or just dive into an internet
game and hope for mercy? What type of game should I go for?

Should I choose pre-gen char, or customize? If I want to customize,
where do I go with low level noobian Hero?

thanks Never Nerds!

When is your last D&D game? I assume it is D&D 1E?
It helps to read about the 3E rules, which NWN is based on (with
modifications). Check the D20 site for the official 3E rules, then search
this group for lots of articles and links about the NWN implementation.

When people play online, they start playing right away (staying online cost
time and money)... so it's better to learn the interface in SP first.

There're many types of games... you can find buddies to go through a
campaign (either official or fan made) from start to end (which may require
many game sessions), or join one of many persistent world (Google for
them) - they are like MMORPGs, and these worlds are usually heavily
customized - so read their FAQs and HowTos before hopping in.

Or, you can start up a hack'n'slash module and kill monsters - but if I were
you, I'll just go back and play Diablo instead if this type of game is to be
played.

It's all about role-playing... customized or pre-generated, it's just a
bunch of numbers. It's the character within that counts...
