Hi,

I have been looking for a new case for ages and I just can’t see past the NZXT 510 Elite. It’s on sale at the moment for £139.

It’s well known to run warmer than other cases. I’m not huge on gaming and mostly play games like Cities Skylines. I do also like Planet Coaster which can be quite hardware intense I think. I don't do any overclocking either.

I was not planning on using any extra cooling. Thought I could keep the two 140mm fans at the front (intake) and the 120mm (exhaust) at the rear. I think it now comes with either 120/140 on the top as an extra exhaust.

There are loads of reviews about this case and they all have some kind of water cooling going on.

Does anyone have this case and only use the fans supplied? How are your temps?

I worried I am asking for trouble getting this case and putting extra strain on my components. I do love that case though. The other case I was looking at was the Fractal Meshify C Light Tinted. Love this case to but I don’t think it looks as good as the NZXT. I think it may be nosier with it having the mesh front.

Thank you

I like the case.
Buy it if you love it; looks count.

Your parts are not particularly hot.
Two 140mm intakes is more than enough.
Whatever fresh air comes in the front will exit somewhere taking component heat with it.
The rear 120 mm fan is fine, it serves mostly to direct the airflow past the cpu cooler and the graphics card.

Thanks for getting back to me.

That's what I thought..... Surly the two 140mm fans will find enough to keep things cool.

The Corsair 88R case that I have is kind of similar with two small side vents at the front. That's the only place it can suck in cool air from outside the case. I get around 60-70 degrees for GPU and CPU when playing games.

This case has 2 really whacko mistakes, imho. First, it lacks a reset button. They just didn't bother. Second, the front panel has a USB 3.0 standard and also a 3.1 type-C port. The USB 3.0 connects to a 20-pin two-port header, so it wastes a USB port on your motherboard. The type-C port connects to a gen2 female header on your motherboard, and many boards lack this connector, so beware, you may need a PCI card to make it work.
