Question NZXT Case

I’ve seen numerous reviews about the smart device for the H700i and I’m not sure if I should get now. Is there anyway to connect the fans and pre-installed rgb’s to the motherboard instead of the smart hub, or must it stay in the smart hub?

I've never had something like it. It seems like a pretty cool, in theory, good working device. This review is telling me otherwise though:

I’m mostly worried about the CAM software because there have been reports of NZXT data mining off that software and it’s buggy and can make your pc slow down. And the only way to configure true smart hub is the CAM software
