The R4 probably has better airflow, but I have an H440 and love the design and the build quality is excellent.

so how good is the airflow in the nzxt h440

It has great airflow, it's got a huge 140mm fan on the back which helps out with GPU temps, and has 3 120mm fans at the front. The only issue is the fan grills are only one the side so that does limit the airflow a little, but it's still great and cools my components perfectly. I highly recommend one.
