NZXT HUE+ and CAM problem

Hi,

I'm having some trouble with my NZXT Hue+ (latest version). The lights work, but do not act the way they are supposed to. Using the CAM software kind of works, by which I mean: I can activate strips, but there is always one strip staying 'on' when I turned it off.

I think the problem might be the cam software: I've uninstalled it completely, then reinstalled it, then used a 'guest account' so it would not load the online profiles, and it worked just fine after the first boot. Also did a CMOS reset, just for the heck of it. On a reboot however, I again get the same problem.

I've had issues with cam before, but was always able to fix them by shutting down the machine, unplugging the power, and the Hue+ would 'reset' itself - starting with all lights blazing in blue (which I assume to be the default?), and I could just readjust things.
This no longer works though - as if the wonky settings are preserved somewhere.

Any tips would be greatly appreciated.

You're right to think that it's the CAM software. It has been clarified by Dmitri/TTL that the software is a little wonky and the profiles are also misplaced when you shuffle them around.

In the meantime, have you made sure your motherboard BIOS and remaining device drivers(namely USB and chipset) are up to date? I wouldn't suggest this but if you're on Windows 10, perhaps try a repair install and see if the issue crops out.

Mind sharing your full system's specs and the OS?

Hi. Thanks for the reply. The new version of Cam updated the Hue+ firmware. It seems to have helped, but I sometimes still get no response when turning on/of a specific LED channel. But when I shut down cam and restart, it seems to work - a little annoying, but at least now it (sort of) works.

Mobo: asus z170deluxe, running latest bios, 3007 (just flashed it yesterday, and seems very stable). i7 6700k, ME_11.6.0.1032 and all latest drivers from the asus website.
gpu: 970 strix, also running latest nvidia driver.
OS: win10 pro, version 1607, build 14393.576

Overall, it seems like it's heading in the right direction and is definitely working a lot better now after the Hue+ firmware update.

Glad to see that you made some progress with the software. I would like to note though that the CAM software suite is constantly being updated and ofc it's also going to see massive face lifts in the months to come. The best you can do is follow up on it's developments and I'm sure that there is a thread on NZXT for passing on your thoughts and feedback to them about the suite.

With Windows 10, just be sure to keep your BIOS up to date since the microcode helps keep the OS stable in the event something goes awry.

Thank YOU for awarding my post as the Best Solution! 😉 + You're welcome!
