Hello, I'm wondering if you guys can help me out with customizing my aio for a build I'm putting together.

I'm getting the nzxt kraken x52 rev 2 and I want to change the stock black 120mm fans to black fans with white blades. I want to make sure I get something that's not just pretty, but quiet and able to perform well enough.

Parts list
CPU: i9-9900k
Mobo: gigabyte auros z390 WiFi pro
Cooler: nzxt kraken x52
Case: nzxt h500i
Gpu: msi 980ti
Psu: Corsair rm750i

Thanks guys!

Since the fan goes to the rad, you'll need good static pressure fan. Not many fans out there that have good performance and white blades in black frame.

Here, i'd go with Corsair ML120 Pro white LED fans since Corsair ML Pro fans are one of the best (if not the best) fans when it comes to the balance between airflow (CFM) and static pressure (mmH2O). Besides fan having transparent (white) blades in black frame, fan also has white LEDs to add to the eyecandy,

pcpp: https://pcpartpicker.com/product/wPFXsY/corsair-co-9050041-ww-750-cfm-120mm-fan-co-9050041-ww

Here are the pros and cons of Corsair ML120 Pro white LED fans:
Pros
  • great airflow (12 - 75 CFM)
  • great static pressure (0.2 - 4.2 mmH2O)
  • great RPM range (400 - 2400 RPM)
  • PWM control (4-pin fan)
  • mag-lev bearing (lifetime 300.000+ hours)
  • 4 color options (red, blue, white LED and non-LED version)

Mediocre
  • noise output (16 - 37 dB(A))
Cons
  • price

I have Corsair ML Pro LED series fans in use with 2 out of 3 of my PCs (Skylake and Haswell, full specs with pics in my sig). Per PC, i have 4x Corsair ML Pro LED series fans and 3x NZXT AER140 RGB fans. While i can get by with (let's say) 3 fans, there's a benefit of having more case fans. With 7 case fans, i don't have to run my fans at high RPM to maintain the proper airflow inside my full-tower ATX cases and i can run them at much slower speeds, which in turn also reduces noise coming from fans. My case fans run at about 800 - 1100 RPM and i can hardly hear them.

Thanks for the recommendation! I'll check them out, sounds like they would be a good upgrade, white LEDs and white accents are kind of what I'm going for in the build, so these may fit the bill just fine.

With that said, I'm still open to other suggestions, I'm not pulling the trigger for another two weeks, want to explore all my options

Well, there's also BitFenix Spectre Pro white LED 120mm fan but their performance nor looks aren't that good as Corsair ML Pro series fans,

video unboxing:
View: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8_6yDx4x3No

Pros
  • fluid-dynamic bearing (lifetime 150.000+ hours)
  • noise output (18.9 dB(A))
  • price
  • toggle-able fan LED*
Mediocre
  • airflow (56.22 CFM)
  • static pressure (1.24 mmH2O)
  • DC control (3-pin fan)
Cons
  • max RPM (1200 RPM)
* by default, fan has jumper on it that keeps LED lit all the times when fan is working. If you remove the jumper and connect 2-pin switch to it, you can control the LED on/off manually, separate from fan RPM. This is the only fan series, that i know of, which has this kind of feature.

In my black & green themed AMD build, i have 2x BitFenix Spectre Pro green LED w/ white frame 140mm fans as a airflow fans (amazon).

Phanteks PH-F120MP.

Basically black frame, white fan Noctua NF-F12's but better and cheaper.

Since it's a cpu fan, you'll need pwm. DC 3pin won't work on that header, or I should say they'll work at full 12v only. If connecting the fans to the pump, the stock Aer P120's are also pwm. The leads from the pump on my x61 are 4pin and not interchangeable with 3pin fans.

I like them. But I'm biased, I like pretty much any of the top line stuff from FD or Nzxt etc. They are all very decent. The nzxt's on my x61 lasted 6 years at 24/7/365 except for maintenance, and my FD X's in my define R5 are still silent and flawless.

All those upper end fans are going to perform roughly the same, some slightly louder, some more cfm, some more sp, but it all balances out.

When you consider FD is up against nzxt and TT and Corsair in the AIO market, they'll not put crap fans in the box. A-game or go home cuz they'll not sell a bad product.
