That basically is my question,
The Sentry 3 has a Four pin Molex style cable that connects to the PSU. BUT- I noticed that the little cable that extends from the fan controller has 3 pins and not 4 pins as I would have expected! If anyone has a Sentry 3, would you care to take a look and report back to me? Many thanks!

Oh, the molex? The fourth cable is isn't necessary. More or less the same answer actually, why pay for the 4th pin when you only three?

It'll be either the 5V or one of the grounds not connected.
If you look at the specifications you'll see it's voltage control rather than an actual feedback controller. Most PWM fans work just fine with voltage so they just took the easy/cheap approach. Because it's direct voltage though, only three cables are actually necessary (signal voltage, 12V, and ground). There should however be one 4pin cable in there, which sends the data necessary for RPM back.

Thanks for your reply. Are you for sure referring to the cable that connects the fan controller to the PSU? It's the Molex type. Molex cables usually have 4 pins?? But the one that came with the Sentry 3 controller has 3 pins. If you look at the connector, it goes Pin, Pin, no pin, pin. Is this normal?

If ANYBODY else out there is worried whether the power cable on the NZXT is missing a Pin??? It is not, I called the retailer who checked a few other units from their stock. They are supposed to have a Molex connector with only 3 pins. :) It's a pretty neat controller also.
