Basically I have the NZXT 810 Switch PC Case,

http://www.scan.co.uk/products/nzxt-switch-810-matte-black-special-edition-case-with-4-x-140mm-fans-e-atx-w-o-psu

The case has 2 x USB 2.0 ports and 2 x USB 3.0 ports built in. However, the USB 3 ports require a certain adapter to work. I believe the cable is a 'USB 3 Header' and is male. Is there a female adapter that will work with molex or sata? or even a PCI/PCI-Express card?

Without this the USB 3 ports at the front of my case are useless, I'd appreciate it if someone could link me to an adapter/card that will solve this.

Thanks

Yeah, it looks like no USB 3 header on your motherboard (but the non-Pro version seems to have one???).

If you want USB 3.0 to the case, you can use a PCI USB 3.0 card that has the 19-pin connector:

You would just attach the case's 3.0 connector to the header on the back of this card. This is a pretty inexpensive option and will get you 3.0 to the case.

Or, if you don't necessarily need the 3.0 speed, you can use those ports as 2.0:

Just plug the case 3.0 male connector into this converter and the other end into one of the 2.0 headers on the motherboard. You'll at least be able to use the ports on the...
This USB 3.0 adapter attaches to the USB header on your motherboard considering you have a motherboard with a USB 3.0 header on it.

If you don't have a USB 3.0 header on your motherboard, I've seen adapters that will allow you to plug the USB 3.0 into a USB 2.0 header (and subsequently your case's USB 3.0 connections operate at 2.0 speeds).

Okay thanks, so is there no way I could allow my USB 3.0 ports to function as they should, with my motherboard not having a USB 3.0 header on it?

By the way I have the Asus M5A97 Pro Motherboard.

Thanks

That Switch 810 is a great case. I really like what NZXT is doing with cases in general. Really easy to build in and manage cables.

Yeah you'd think the pro version would have the feature, and the standard one not.

And yeah I'm glad I chose this case, I was a little skeptical about buying this case at first, but its really easy to use, and it makes cable management a whole lot easier.

I may just go for the USB 2.0 converter. Either way, thanks for your quick replies, really helpful. I appreciate it!
