Hey Guyz,

I havent had much experiance with overclocking. Just been doing a bit of research on it recently, because i just built a new system consisting of;

Intel Core 2 Duo E8400
Asus P5KC
4GB DDR2 800Mhz RAM
500GB Samsung HDD
XpertVision 9600GT O.C Sonic Edition (HDMI)
Arctic Cooler Pro 7 Heatsink/Fan
Samsung DVD-RW Drive
A+ Xclio Twin Engine Full Tower Case (Two 250mm Fans)
12cm Fan installed at the back of case just behind heatsink

I wanted to know what is the best way i can overclock my cpu to from 3.0ghz to 4.0ghz running stable, with the specs listed above.

Thankz In Advance!

thanx for the advice, i went into my bios and set the fsb at 9x445 and set the voltage at 1.45v. Its running stable after hours of crysis and assassins creed!

Peace....

I have an Asus P5K with e8400 running at 4.02g 6x445 voltage 1.352 stable. I'm using the XIGMATEK HDT-S1283
cooler which keeps it at 45c

1.45v is way too high for 4ghz. You really don't want over 1.4v on these 45nm chips. Keep lowering the voltage until you run into stability problems. Then raise it 1 notch.

Mine ran 4.05ghz @ 1.35v on the P5KC.
