OBS can I run it?

I've been using Shadowplay to record my gameplay videos, and I'm always looking for better software to do so. Jackfrags recently released a video about OBS and how great it is and all. However, he said that people wouldn't be able to get the results he had since you HAVE to have an Intel CPU. I have an AMD 6300 (can be overclocked if needed) and wanna know if I'd be able to get the same results as he would, or at least similar.

I'm not very good at figuring software out in a timely way, so could someone check to make sure?

GPU - GTX 970 ssc
CPU - AMD FX 6300
Ram- 8 blue hyper X.

It probably isn't too big of trouble to just test how it runs with OBS and if it lags go back to Shadowplay.
Though i really don't see how OBS would be better than Shadowplay anyway
It's not really as simple as just "can i run it" it depends on 1.the resolution you're recording. 2. the game you're playing.
You can use OBS but how well it's gonna run is up to what you're playing and at what resolution are you recording it.

BF4 at 1920x1080
Starbound on the same, Terraria, small games until I get a bigger budget to expand my setup.

I just want it since you can run multiple audio channels, so I can record the audio separately from the gameplay itself.

I'm guessing Jackfrags uses quicksync in his videos, this is intelHDs equivalent to nvenc (shadowplay) quicksync is the most efficient of the three options giving you the smallest files, least bandwith needed,it's hardware so you can't get the same ratio with anything else.

So what do you think would be alright for me? Given my setup.

I think you should test them and form your own opinion based on what you like. If you don't know what's best for yourself then who knows?

Opinions are subjective and are objectively wrong most of the time. I want results, not what I'd think works. But I get what you're saying, I'll just have to see for myself and look for the best.
