OBS: I record and video stutters with 144hz monitor

Hey, so I've been having this problem when I record on OBS on a 144hz monitor and then if I go to the video recording starts stuttering. I normally record at 60fps and sometimes I'll record 180-240 fps.

My PC specs:
- Nvidia GTX 970
- i7 processor
- 16 GB of ram
- 64 bit operating system

What i7 do you have? There are something like 50 possible models from the first generation on LGA1366 to the current ones on LGA1151/2011v2. You need a more powerful CPU than an i7-7700(k) to do software x264 without dropping frames at 60fps.

Change your bit rate to 25000, change your encoder to NVENC, and only record at 60fps.

My processor is Intel(R) Core(TM) i7-6700 CPU @ 3.40ghz

Also its the video that looks like it lags and not the actual things im doing.

Same difference: if the video encoder is falling too far behind because there isn't enough spare processing power to catch up with incoming frames, frames get dropped from the encoding pipeline to catch up.

I put my bitrate higher in OBS to 250000 and it barely helped, I think it's that it skips frames because the video records at 60fps but my monitor is at 144hz. I don't know that much about this type of stuff so correct me if I'm wrong.

- Another problem has happened is that when I change my monitor to 60hz it doesn't look like 60hz and it lags a little but I can try solving this on a later day.
