OBS makes me drop frames even when I'm not streaming

Hey guys, when I open up OBS on my computer when I'm in game, I get an immediate drop of about 20 frames, any ideas why? I have a relatively high end computer too.

AMD Ryzen 1700x @3.9GHZ
EVGA GTX 1080 SC @2GHZ
Corsair Vengeance 16GB

I suggest uninstalling the program and reinstalling it
