OBS streaming computer

I have been making updates to my church's live streaming systems, including on the computer side. For one I've been using a MacBook pro add a temporary solution while I was figuring out what computer to use permanently. I got a really good deal on a 12core Mac pro for my other rig and was surprised that I had extremely poor FPS. It was my impression that encoding was the job of the CPU and I have plenty of CPU power. OBS even showed I was using 10% or less of the CPU. It dawned on me that the MP had dedicated graphics where my MBP had shared and this might be the difference. I put in beefier GPU and viola better FPS. I'm still struggling to maintain more than about 25fps though and this is has me stumped for putting together a rig to take the place of my MBP. I was thinking PC to save some $. What am I missing? I've got plenty of download and uploaded speed.

Solution
MBP may have intel quicksync which many encoders can take advantage of. The 12 core likely wouldn't have intergated GPU on the CPU so would not get quicksync either.
