[SOLVED] Obscenely Low 3DMark Scores at 644 with AMD 8350 and GeForce 970

Anyone got any ideas on this? My Fire Strike score is coming back as 644 with an AMD FX-8350 and a GeForce MSi 970.

I wasn't expecting top end stats, but 644 shouldn't even be possible... Anyone got any clue as to where this may be going wrong?

Check your cpu temps it didn't really turbo up I'm wondering if either it or the vrms are overheating. What mothboard do you have?

My CPU temp doesn't really go above 65-70, motherboard is an ASUS Sabertooth 990

Going off memory here but I believe they start throttling somewhere in the low/mid 60s. I'm guessing that's your problem

The thing that throws me, is that if they were really so awful to give scores that bad, I don't get why games actually run fine. Just seems bizarre

Your GPU score is fine it's the physics (cpu) score that killed it. Could be games don't push it into throttling as bad as the benchmark does

Well for 1 you are running 4 sticks of ram.
Amd's 2 channel memory controller defaults the ram to 1600 when all for slots are populated.
Your not any where close to that .
Firestrike is showing your ram at 1154mhz.
What is your ram anyway?
For a quick test pull out the sticks in the light tan slots and rerun firestrike look at you ram speed then.

His GPU score is VERY LOW... Should be around 11,700 or so.

Not 3,687 like it is.

I was thinking it was extreme with about 2/3 of what he should have with a throttling cpu... You're right, my guess is cpu throttling is cause the GPU score to be lower than it should be

He has some serious problems with that system going on.

When stress testing my 8350 with p95 going for my best cooling solution at 68c max i would stop the test. Without testing watercooled it runs low to mid 30's

He hasn't given us all the specs,
So hard to give any suggestions.
