Obscure Video Problem

I've had this build up and running smoothly for about a month now. My brother, who is definitely the computer guru of the family, was recently in town and I asked his assistance in getting my 1066 sticks to run as such (I had tried to get them to work but after running a memtest was getting errors at 1066 so I just ran them at 800 instead)

My brother set them to 1066 and increased voltage accordingly. Everything seemed to work well. A day goes by and my computer crashes. I attributed the crash to the new RAM settings so I put them back to 800 and normal voltage. Low and behold, now I am getting no video output. I have tried connecting my computer to two different monitors, and neither is receiving a video signal. I have tried removing and resetting the video card. I can't think of anything else to do, nor can my brother (who is now out of town)

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Here is the build info:

AMD Phenom II X3 720 2.8GHz

GIGABYTE GA-MA790X-UD4P AM3/AM2+/AM2 AMD 790X ATX AMD Motherboard

OCZ Platinum 4GB (2 x 2GB) 240-Pin DDR2 SDRAM DDR2 1066

HIS Hightech H485FN512P Radeon HD 4850 512MB 256-bit GDDR3

CORSAIR CMPSU-650TX 650W

how do I do that? I'm not all that tech savvy.

There should be some jumpers you need to change. check your motherboard manual on how to reset the cmos.

pulling the battery might help.

Pull the battery out and power on for a few seconds. After it's off replace the battery and power on. That should get your bios back. Set your bios to lowest setting, usually says "compatible" or something similar. If it still crashes it's the ram.

that's got me back, thanks guys. Now i just need to figure out how to configure the RAM to avoid crashes, as well as this problem reoccuring.
