Hi all, need your help. I want to know what might be stopping me from
overclocking any higher.
I have a 2600 factory unlocked barton with SLK-900U HS
2x512 Corsair XMS3200C2PT set at timings of 2.5-3-3-6;(2.5-3-3-11 does
nothing more in stability or speed for me)
Abit AN7 board;
400W PSU

At factory 11.5 muliplier, I'm maxed out at 195fsb. At 11X, I can push it to
200fsb. And if I set multiplier at 10.5X, i can go up to 210fsb. I've used
vcore of 1.8V(that high enough?) and my Vdim is at 2.8V.
Any suggestions on why I can't go higher? what's stopping me? Temps never go
above 45 under load in any setup. Seems my cpu can't cross the 2.3ghz limit

Thanks all

With all the FSB variations, I'd say the cpu is at or very close to it's
limits. That's a little on the low side, but 11x200 is still a 3200+, so
not real bad.

You might try increasing the vcore to 1.825 or 1.85. I wouldn't go any
higher than 1.9 on the vcore with air cooling. You also might try 3 3 3 8
on the ram. Some of the abit nf2 motherboards undervolt the vcore by about
0.02v, might want to check this one. I have a NF7-S 1700+ (680 A core) at
11.0 x 173fsb on 1.875v with DDR2100 @ 2.8v 173fsb (3 3 3 11) using a
thermaltake silent boost with a vantec tornado reo/controlled. Max temp
load at 80W is 46°C and the best I can figure I get a 0.25 C/W from the heat
sink / fan combo with a fan speed of 4400rpm. The SLK-900U is a better heat
sink and therefore you shouldn't have to worry to much about temps.

good luck and i hope this helps
